After an extended period of what felt like fruitless attempts at composing a song or a piece, ultimately a change of scenery led to a few sketches that became more complete, including this one. At the time, my philosophy about the season I was going through, I dubbed "Transitus," and I felt this particular composition needed to have that word in the title. But, I needed more words, and given that I had already begun the title with a Classic Latin word, I needed to keep the rest of the title in the same language.
A month or so later, I performed it at a community arts event, and asked for title suggestions based on what the piece reminded them of. The suggestion that stood out the most -- and the one I ended up including -- was about stained glass windows. The title ended up being "Transition Through The Stained Glass Windows," except in Classic Latin, because I was that determined to have the exact word "Transitus" in the title, and because I wanted the entire title to be in the same language.
This track was created and mixed in GarageBand. I doubled the piano part with two piano patches and added a bass guitar line or two for effect.
