The genesis of this composition has a more personal backstory than most compositions or songs I write. The title "The Search in Question" is no misnomer. There is a deliberate journey that the music reflects where both me and the music find ourselves having traveled so far from not only where I had started, but also from the path that I wanted to be on; and also to where I fought and also had divine assistance to return. What I find most fascinating about the key progressions is that, while the main theme returns multiple times through the piece, I did not plan for the piece to go to any of the keys it went to. And as far as the piece returning to the same original key at the very end from where it started, that was also unplanned.
This track was created as a music file in Finale which uses Garritan instruments. Piano samples used in this recording are from the Garritan Authorized Steinway Library.
