The 4th verse is my official statement of faith in Jesus, written as of March 2013.
lyrics
verse 1
There’s a Healer that is out there,
the One who also made us,
He came up with a design
that is good and right and true.
But in life we make wrong choices,
or there’s things that happen to us,
and we learn to do the things
that make us feel safe.
chorus
Praise the Lord! There is healing!
Not just salvation but recovery.
It’s not just about believing
but believing that He can help me.
verse 2
There’s a story ‘bout some Hebrews,
the ones stuck in Egypt,
the ones who were freed from slavery,
then they walked out free.
But after the sea was split
the real journey then began.
Gotta do what it took to
get to the Promised Land.
chorus
verse 3
And today, what’s your story?
We have a Son who set us free
and showed the way through the desert
to all the plans He has for us.
You can choose to stay in darkness,
you can choose to live in light;
you can choose to stay broken,
you can choose to be restored.
chorus
verse 4
I pledge allegiance to the Creator
of the entire universe,
and to the Holy Scriptures
and for what they stand;
one body, under Jesus,
(because He’s our High Priest)
unified, with liberty
and justice for all.
