verse 1
When the Word became flesh, God sent out Gabriel to spread tidings of joy.
Zechariah didn’t believe he’d have a child, so Gabriel banned him from speaking.
When Gabriel came to Mary and gave her the good news,
she went over to Zechariah’s house,
and when she did, John leaped, he leaped, he leaped for joy,
he leaped, he leaped, he leaped, he leaped for joy,
he leaped, he leaped, he leaped, he leaped for joy,
‘cause of Jesus.
verse 2
and she said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God,
for he has looked favorably on me, and blessed me richly.
Surely from now on, all will call me blessed,
the Mighty One has done great things for me,
and holy, holy, holy is his Name,
holy, holy, holy is his Name,
holy, holy, holy is his Name,
he’s Jesus.”

Then John’s father Zechariah, finally able to speak, spoke:
“Blessed be the Lord! He has raised up a Savior just like the prophets foretold!”

His mercy is on those who love him, age to age,
his mighty arm scatters those with pride in their chests,
he strikes down the strong but exalts the humble in heart.
He’s remembered his promise to our father Abraham,
he saved us from our foes, that we may serve him,
he’s lit our path, forgiven us, he’s called us to his purpose.
He’s promised to always hold on,
he’s never gonna let go of us,
for God so loved the world.
verse 3
After thirty-three years of life and three years of ministry, they captured him,
and although they beat him, and they tortured him, and yes crucified him,
he died for us.
‘Cause he was God made flesh, he died and rose again,
and he will judge the living and the dead,
and he will, he will, he will, he’ll come again,
he will, he will, he will, he’ll come again,
he will, he will, he will, he’ll come again.
He’s Jesus.
